NovaLearn's Commitment to Inclusive Learning

Our Commitment to Accessibility

General

At NovaLearn, we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many available standards and guidelines.

NovaLearn strives to conform to level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user-friendly for all people.

Measures to Support Accessibility

NovaLearn takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of NovaLearn:

  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Integrate accessibility into our development practices.
  • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.

Accessibility Features

The NovaLearn platform incorporates several features designed to enhance accessibility for all users:

  • Alternative Text: Meaningful alternative text is provided for all images and other non-text elements. This allows users of screen readers to understand the content and purpose of visual elements.
  • Keyboard Navigation: The entire website can be navigated using a keyboard, providing access to users who cannot use a mouse or other pointing device. Focus indicators are clearly visible to help users understand where they are on the page.
  • Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML elements to structure our content in a meaningful way. This makes it easier for assistive technologies to understand the structure and relationships between different elements on the page.
  • Color Contrast: We have carefully chosen color combinations to ensure sufficient contrast between text and background. This helps users with low vision to read the content more easily.
  • Resizable Text: Users can easily increase or decrease the text size using their browser settings. This allows users with visual impairments to customize the text size to their individual needs.
  • Forms and Labels: All form fields are properly labeled to provide clear instructions for users. Assistive technologies can use these labels to provide additional guidance to users with disabilities.
  • ARIA Attributes: We use ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to provide additional information about the purpose and state of interactive elements. This helps assistive technologies to better understand and interpret the content.
  • Consistent Navigation: The navigation structure is consistent throughout the website, making it easier for users to find the information they need.
  • Descriptive Links: All links are descriptive and provide clear information about the destination of the link. This helps users understand where they will be taken when they click on a link.

Assistive Technologies

The NovaLearn website is designed to be compatible with a variety of assistive technologies, including:

  • Screen Readers: We have tested our website with popular screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver to ensure that it is fully accessible.
  • Screen Magnifiers: Users can use screen magnifiers to enlarge the content on the screen.
  • Speech Recognition Software: Users can use speech recognition software to navigate and interact with the website using their voice.
